We Are Families Helping Families

What is psychoeducation? It’s a structured session that blends cognitive-behavioural therapy, group interaction, and educational insights to help our children navigate and improve their treatment experiences. 🌟

Held on a monthly basis, these sessions give our young ones a safe space to share and articulate their thoughts during treatment. Conducted in groups of at least three children, these sessions aim to help each child better understand and express their unique journey through treatment. πŸ€—πŸ’«

Unlike counselling, each psychoeducation session focuses on a specific topic and typically involves the children only, creating a peer environment where they can freely express themselves. This approach helps them build resilience and self-awareness as they navigate their cancer journey. Although many are initially shy, with time, they become more comfortable sharing and connecting with one another, fostering a supportive and understanding community. πŸ«‚πŸ’ͺ

Through these sessions, we hope to equip them with valuable tools and insights that empower them, both in and beyond the classroom.
