To better support our families during this pandemic, Support Services has introduced several new initiatives in 2021.
1. Wednesday Breakfast
For outpatients attending Daycare/Clinic appointments on Wednesday, they can get their breakfast while waiting for their turn and caretakers don’t need to look around for food. Packets will be distributed by daycare nurse.
2. Comfort Aid
Monthly supply of essential needs such as diapers & milk powder; have been made available for palliative and bed ridden patients.
3. Hearing Aid Subsidy
Hearing loss is one of the potential long term side effects of childhood cancer & depending on severity of hearing loss, the price of the hearing aid can be quite high and not affordable for some families. Upon doctor’s referral for childhood cancer patients that needs hearing aids, SCCS will subsidies according to family’s need.
