Edwin is 14 years old and he’s originally from Sibu. Before he was diagnosed with cancer, his legs were in pain and the doctor found that his left leg was broken. He soon found himself staying longer in Kuching when his sample result showed that he was diagnosed with bone cancer.

After about 3 months going through chemotherapy, he was very sad to find out that he had to undergo an operation to remove his left leg to remove the cancer; we couldn’t imagine what he had to go through in that 6 hour window. It was a painful reality to accept but Edwin had the enormous support from his family, SCCS team, parents at the ward as well as the medical team to keep going and continue his road to recovery.

Currently, he is still going through treatment and he doesn’t feel sick anymore. Despite his limitation, he is grateful that he no longer feels sick and has learned to move around with crutches. He hopes is to complete his treatment soon so that he can go back to his hometown & resume his student life.
