About Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM)

Every year in September, the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society joins hands with organisations worldwide to honour children, survivors, and their families who are bravely facing childhood cancer. It’s a time to raise awareness, spark conversations, and continue pushing for better treatments and support.

Did you know?
In Sarawak, one child is diagnosed with cancer every five days.

What’s Happening This September?

As part of the global Light It Up Gold campaign, Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) joins Childhood Cancer International (CCI) and Childhood Cancer Malaysia (CCM) in raising awareness for children battling cancer.

Originally scheduled for 5 September 2026, SCCS’s first-ever public Childhood Cancer Awareness Walk has been postponed to 7 November 2026 due to the worsening haze situation.
