My name is Muhammad Fakhri Bin Muhammad and I’m a childhood cancer survivor. I suffered from brain cancer when I was 11 years old and completed my treatment 2 years later (currently still under monitoring).
“I got my STPM result!”
Currently I’m waiting to further my studies in higher education as I have completed STPM examination in 2019. While waiting for my STPM result, I spent most of my free time volunteering with SCCS together with group of youth survivors known as Heroes Of Hopes. When the pandemic hit the country, it was a challenging time for me because I wasn’t sure what I would staying at home for a long period of time. It was not easy when you hadn’t seen your friends physically for a long time or going out without worrying about the virus. Sometimes, there were days I felt anxious so watching movies or playing games were some of the ways that I tried to cope. Despite that, I am grateful to be able to be with my family and stay healthy during this time.
“I miss volunteering with SCCS. This was back in February 2020, just before Covid-19 pandemic.”
With my experience as a childhood cancer survivor, I hope I can continue spreading childhood cancer awareness; also one day to return back to volunteering with SCCS when things are more safe.
